EILS has also, in association with the University of Port Elizabeth, produced the following computer-based training product:
Performance Evaluation
This performance evaluation system is competency based and links individual employee performance standards and objectives with the strategic plan of the organisation.
The system includes features such as employee involvement in setting performance objectives and self-evaluation of performance, and multi-rating of an employee's performance. It is also compatible with the utilisation of the balanced scorecard method of strategic planning.
The system conforms to codes of best human resources practice in that it is transparent, and involves a high degree of employee participation. Checks and balances are built into the system to ensure that appropriate performance standards are set and to reduce rater bias in the evaluation of performance.
This programme comprises two parts:
Performance Evaluation: Management Edition
Performance Evaluation: Employee Edition
Although this programme was developed for, and has been sold to several higher education institutions, its principles are highly applicable to any type of organisation.
